COVID-19 UPDATES

22 August 2020

As some of you may have seen, further restrictions have been announced by Queensland Government in an effort suppress an outbreak of COVID-19.

While the new restrictions impact social gatherings I am writing to advise that they will not affect any of our coaching or fixtures activities nor your attendance at the club. While gatherings in private homes and public spaces will be restricted to a maximum of 10 people. These limits do not apply to businesses operating under a COVID Safe plan.

COVID Safe plans have taken instances like this outbreak into account. Until further notice, you should consider it as ‘business as usual’ for your scheduled lessons.

The outbreak, which is centered around a Wacol facility, serves as a timely reminder though for us all to practice social distancing and be extremely vigilant with hand washing/sanitization. We are sure you are now all very familiar with the hand sanitizers which are installed at the club.

If you are unwell, please do not come to the Club. The Queensland Government advises that anyone with cold or flu-like symptoms get a COVID-19 test.  Results are generally available within 24 hours.

TERM 2 TENNIS COACHING

We hope that everyone is adjusting well in this period of COVID-19, and is keeping safe and healthy.

Our tennis club (in consultation and with the support of the Department of Sport and Recreation and Cleveland Police Station) has continued to operate, albeit with COVID-19 adjustments.

We confirm that there will be NO group lessons or fixture competitions during Term 2.  We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you informed for Term 3.

However, we are pleased to provide interested families with private tennis coaching and hitting practice in Term 2 (20 April to 27 June 2020).

All lessons will be limited to 1 coach and 1 student per session.  The lessons are available Monday to Friday, as well as Saturday Mornings.

If you would like to secure a private lesson, please reply via email or contact us on 0423 331 123. Now is a great opportunity to perfect that technique!  Please note that available times may be limited due the number of students we can accommodate.
